Donald Trump on Launching Truth Social

Former President Donald Trump is no stranger to dealing with social media. He has always been an advocate for these platforms. He has been banned from platforms like Twitter and Facebook for no good reason. He has pointed out how the media is guilty of pushing “fake news” and he has created a solution for himself and his supporters since no one else has.

According to The Hill, he announced his plan to “launch a social media platform meant to rival Silicon Valley tech companies and ‘fight back against big tech.’” His platform, Truth Social, “aims to open to ‘invited users’ for a beta test in November [2021], and is the product of Trump Media & Technology Group’s (TMTG) merger with Digital World Acquisition Corp. The company said it plans on a nationwide rollout in the first quarter of 2022.”

Many of his supporters are excited for this new social media feat. They allow potential users to sign up for the invite list on the platform’s website. Trump gave some more context after a press release. He said that he “created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech,” which makes sense given that he was constantly targeted. He continued to say, “We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable. I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon."

The best part about President Trump is the fact that he values the opinions of everyone. He said that “TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I'm excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech [...] Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!”

This new social media platform is a breath of fresh air because no one has had the gull to stand up to these big corporations who try to silence the opinions of anyone they don’t agree with. America is a melting pot of culture and ideas and should be shared with everyone. Not just who “cancel culture” agrees with.
